Our Story

Pictures of Life Productions has also created award-winning music and music videos filmed by Mr. John Beveridge and written and performed by Zirzeria Wright-Beveridge.  The songs include May God Smile on You, Pray, Miracle, Amazing Grace Jazz versions. The International World title nominated music include Dreams that Fly and Talk About Jesus. May God Smile on you won nationally.

Currently Pictures of Life Productions is working on their next project, a theatrical and musical Production entitled, Jazz the Jewel of the World. This production takes one on a journey of when the first musical instruments were used to influence jazz to the current jazz of today. It highlights the greats of jazz throughout the years from the 1800’s to the present day and travels to the South of Georgia and Carolinas with the Greenbook.

Throughout the production, several short dramas and musical performances will take the audience on a journey visiting how jazz was not only in the states of New York and Louisiana but how it travelled South to Charleston, Atlanta, Augusta, and the little forgotten towns in South Carolina and Georgia.

This play will portray certain characters such as Ethel Waters, Blanche Calloway, Cab Calloway, Ella Fitzgerald, and many of our current artists. It will also talk about the emergence of jazz from its negro spirituals, ragtime, blues, swing era, jazz, Latin Jazz to jazz fusion of today. And in addition of how each period used jazz to help tell the stories of the African American journey through music.
